Harman’s Really-Aged Cheddar is a natural, premium grade, white cheddar made in New York State especially for us in June 2016 and has been aged for almost 5 years.
This New York State Cheddar was made from whole, pasteurized milk gathered from cows grazing on the lush “first grass” of June 2016. Milk from this time of year has a rich flavor for cheese. Our Cheddar contains no chemical additives and no added coloring; this is a pure, natural cheddar.
We cut each cheddar block by hand with an old-fashioned wire slicer and wrap it fresh for you. The block you receive is not vacuum-sealed and we guarantee it will keep a minimum of 4 weeks in your refrigerator. Your cheddar will have the fullest, tastiest flavor when it is at room temperature; so take it out of the refrigerator an hour or two before you plan on serving it.
Back in June 2016, over 28,000 pounds of this wonderful cheddar was made especially for us and has been aged slowly at uniform low temperatures since then to give it the delicious, smooth, zesty flavor which has inspired our customers to label our cheddar as the “World’s Greatest.”
The size of a one-pound block is about 5 inches by 3.5 inches by 1.5 inches.
This Cheddar is wrapped in saran and then in Kraft paper. It is NOT vacuum-sealed and should be eaten with 4 to 6 weeks.
