Harman’s Extra-Aged Cheddar, Aged Almost 5 Years

We have extended our March Sale through April 11th, so that visitors coming to our area for the Solar Eclipse on April 8th will be able to taste our vintage 2019 Cheddar.

This “almost 5-year” vintage is available for you to order through Friday, April 12th.  The limits have been lifted so you may order it again or order it for the first time.

Our customers, who stop in the store for a taste, love the tangy flavor of the vintage 2019and say it is quite distinctive from the vintage 2021 Cheddar.  If you are near our store, stop in for your own taste test between the two Cheddars.

Spring at Harman’s

On the very first Spring weekend, a snow storm came through and blessed us with over 18 inches of snow.  It snowed for over 12 hours and kept the plows busy!

In April, we are going to close for annual maintenance and to oil our store floors.

Order by April 12th, for delivery in April.  Our webstore will remain open during the break; orders received after April 12th, will be shipped in May.

Our Sugar Hill Store is open through Monday, April 15th.  The store will be closed starting April 16th until we re-open on Thursday, May 9th.

March is Maple Month.   Fuller’s Sugarhouse has been having a Maple Madness Bracket of delicious Maple Recipes with readers voting on the best recipe.  Unfortunately, most of my choices lost out in the first or second round but we are down to the finals now.   Check it Out.

This recipe didn’t even make it to the play-offs but I think it would make a beautiful side dish for Easter!

Maple Glazed Carrots

6 Medium sized carrots
3 tbsp Butter
1/3 cup Fuller’s Sugarhouse Pure Maple Syrup

Wash and peel the carrots.
Cut in thin slices at an angle.
Heat a sauté pan and melt butter until frothy.
Pour in Fuller’s Sugarhouse pure maple syrup and bring up to bubbling.
Add carrots, sauté briefly to coat thoroughly then turn heat to low.
Let finish on low heat, turning frequently until carrots are just fork tender – about 8 minutes.
Carrots should be slightly crisp when served.


Vintage 2014 and 2019 Cheddar is Available Now!

It’s that time of year at Harman’s that many of you have been waiting for . . . .

The Vintage 2014 and 2019 Cheddar is now available to purchase.

We cut the first block of the vintage 2019 Cheddar and we loved the wonderful tangy flavor of this cheddar that has been aging for over 4 years. It is a bit crumbly with some crystalized bits in it. We have a limit of 4 pounds per customer and the price is $20.00 per pound.

Because we have less than 150 pounds of the vintage 2014 Cheddar (over 9 years of aging); we will cut each block as it is sold (about 40 lbs). I’ll post on facebook and in the webstore our review of the cheese, once we taste it. We are selling this for $28.00 a pound with a limit of 3 pounds per customer.

In March, we also offer our vintage 2021 Cheddar for $11.00 a pound and our 8 ounce blocks of Smoked Aged Cheddar for $9.00. There’s no limit on either of these as we expect to be able to offer this vintage to you for several more months.

We wanted to offer you come delicious condiment choices to top our Cheddars so I put my favorites on sale this year: Wozz Balsamic Fig Mostarda, Apple Hill’s Pepper Jelllies, Ruth’s Hot & Sweet Mustard and Vermont Epicurean Maple Country Mustard.

Westminster Crackers are now making Mini-Saltines. We’ve been sampling them in in the store and some of the employees like them even better than the Westminster Squares. Try a box!

March at Harmans

March is a great time at Harman’s! Stop in for a taste of our older Cheddars.

Mark your calendars: March 16-18 is New Hampshire’s Maple Weekend. Many of the sugarhouses will be open to visitors with special events. The Rocks Estate in Bethlehem offers a weekend Maple Experience from March 16 to April 6.

Fox Country Smokehouse has an Open House event that weekend with tastings and tours. They’ll have plenty of Harman’s Smoked Cheddar out to sample along with their meats and other cheeses.
